Name: Whitney Hall

Age: 10

Years Swimming: 5

What do you like most about swimming? Getting to see all my friends.

My coach always tells me to “glide during breast stroke.”

When I’m not swimming, I like to: Dance and Act.

Coach’s comments: Whitney has really stepped it up, leading lanes in practice and working very hard to improve her strokes and her speed. I am very proud of her! (Coach Bree)

Name: Vallia Yu

Age: 10

Years Swimming: 1

What do you like most about swimming? I like that it’s athletic and that I can have fun.

My coach always tells me to keep my head up in backstroke.

When I’m not swimming, I like to doodle and draw and play with friends.

Coach’s comments: What a surprise! At the CLASS meet, Vallia just makes the June Invite 50 meter Back by 3/100th of a second. She comes to the Invite meet and drops another two seconds making her summer JO time. I am very proud of her progress, not only in the backstroke, but also in the improvement of her Free, Breast, and Fly. Keep up the great work, Vallia! (Coach Kathie D.)

Name: Alicia Lewsadder

Age: 13

Years Swimming: 3

What do you like most about swimming? It keeps me in shape and it’s fun.

My coach always tells me “hard work pays off.”

When I’m not swimming, I like to go to the beach and hang with my friends.

My advice to younger swimmers: Work hard in practice and you will do better.

Coach’s comments: Alicia joined CLASS Aquatics in May of 2007.  Alicia’s brings her love and excitement of swimming to the pool every day.  Alicia is an incredibly hard worker and great competitor!  She has qualified for multiple events for both the Long Course June Age Group Champs as well as the Long Course Junior Olympics in August. (Coach Lori)

Name: Megan Brown

Age: 18

Years Swimming: 6

What do you like most about swimming? Being with my friends.

My coach always tells me to “come to practice and I’ll do better.”

When I’m not swimming, I like to hang out with my friend, Ronnie.

My advice to younger swimmers: The more positive your attitude, the better your times will be.

Coach’s comments: Megan had an incredible high school season. She won CIF City Division in the 100 breaststroke 4 years in a row. She also won the 200 IM at CIF for the last 2 years in a row. She will continue her swimming success next year at the University of South Dakota on a swimming scholarship and plans to study criminal justice. (Coach Steve)
